HOW TO START PREPARING FOR A TRIP

Alright, buckle up! Preparing for a trip can be overwhelming, but don't worry, we are here to save the day. First things first, make a checklist of all the essential stuff like passports, visas, wallet, keys, identification, etc. Research your destination: learn the culture, find the must-visit spots, and jot down a few basic phrases to in case you need something and will be in a country where you don't know that language. Don't forget to double-check your flight, hotel, and other reservations, because we're not trying to end up sleeping on a park bench.

WHERE TO START WHEN PACKING

Oh the joys of packing! Step one will be to determine what kind of trip you are packing for. Is this an outfit-for-every-night kind of trip or are you backpacking Europe and only looking for the essentials? Key tip: how much of this will you be carrying? Start by tossing in a couple of outfits that can be mixed and matched. This will be the best way to pack light, but not feel like you are wearing the same thing every day. Check the weather forecast at your destination, think about the activities you have planned, and keep in mind the culture of the place you are visiting. I like to write out brief itineraries for each day and pack one day at a time. And when I inevitably have too much, I go back to point one and see what can be mixed and matched. Pro tip: always pack an extra pair of undies, just in case. And please, for the love of all that's holy, don't forget your toothbrush.

HOW TO GET THE MOST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK

The first rule is to be a smart traveler, not a splurgy one. Pick your travel dates wisely - avoid peak seasons when everything costs an arm and a leg. Scour the internet for the best flight deals and hotel discounts. (Yes, even if the flight is at 3:30 am. Your wallet will thank you.) Sign up for travel rewards programs to earn those sweet, sweet points. And when it comes to food, my friend, follow the locals' lead. Ditch the fancy restaurants and explore street food. Of course, unless your goal for the trip is to eat amazing food, then find the best eats and scratch the Ritz.

TRAVELING WITH PETS 101

First class for the corgis. But for real, a lot of time and effort goes into travelling with fur children, so make sure you check all the rules and requirements for pet-friendly travel. Get your pet vaccinated, bring the paperwork, and follow any regulations like a law-abiding citizen.

Find pet-friendly accommodations and make sure your little buddy has a comfy carrier or harness. Don't forget the important stuff too, like food, medications, travel water bowls, and ID tags. If the place you are travelling too doesn't have the food your pet usually eats then you may have to bring some along. Switching up your pets diet suddenly will lead to a not-so-fun vacay.

WHERE TO FIND THE ABSOLUTE BEST FOOD

Alright, let's talk about the most important part of any trip - the eats! Forget about dieting because we're about to indulge like there's no tomorrow. Start by stalking food blogs, travel websites, and local review platforms. Trust me, those food enthusiasts know where the real deal is at. Chat up the locals, because they hold the secrets to hidden culinary gems. And don't be afraid to venture off the beaten path. Be adventurous, be bold, and let your taste buds be your guide. Bon appétit!
